Vintage and Damask Wallpaper
Damask is the symmetrical, mirrored motif that has decorated formal rooms for centuries, and it survives because it does a specific job well: it makes a room feel settled and deliberate. Our vintage range pairs those classic repeats with period florals and aged finishes, in traditional creams and golds as well as newer charcoal, navy, and sage colourways.
Where it works
- Dining rooms, the natural home of damask, especially with crown moulding, wainscoting, and a ceiling above nine feet.
- Heritage houses in older GTA neighbourhoods, where a period pattern agrees with the trim and doors already there.
- Hotels, inns, and restaurants that trade on a sense of occasion and want guests to feel it at the door.
- Primary bedrooms, using softer colourways where the repeat reads as texture more than formality.
- Feature walls behind a bar, a fireplace, or a reception desk, where formality is the point.
Choosing yours
Damask lives or dies on motif size. A large repeat needs height and distance; squeezed onto a short wall it can look like a row of medals. Smaller repeats behave more like texture and suit modest rooms. Check what period your room is already speaking. True Victorian detail mixes comfortably with other antiques, while a simplified, oversized damask in a flat modern colour belongs in a newer room. Because the motif is symmetrical, alignment at the seams is visible when it is wrong, so measure carefully and hang patiently, or have us install it.
